Commencement

Today was graduation at the College, one of the best days of the year because I love seeing my students take that victory lap from their seats to the stage. So many kids work so hard in college, especially Scott, who earned his degree despite having MS. He also earned all our respect and deep admiration, shown by the standing ovation he received—and richly deserved. And I found another treat when I got home: the following posting on RateMyProfessors.com:

5/15/11 ENG10 3 5 5 5 Dr.R was simply the best teacher I have ever had, she opened new ideas to me, and never steered me wrong. She was strict but extremely helpful. Taking this class really made me feel like I could do anything. The first day of class she made us take each others numbers and by the last class, none of us wanted to say goodbye, thanks to her. Amazing!!

I reveled in my students’ success and wish them all the best. Stay in touch, kids! You make me proud.
